The Mental Health Foundation raises funds to enhance mental illness and addictions recovery through integrated systems of care, research, and education. We support essential programs and services to ensure Albertans have accessible mental health care when they need it most. We have a better future in mind — where the people in our communities live healthy, fulfilling lives.
Originally formed in 1998 as the Alberta Hospital Edmonton Foundation, the Mental Health Foundation was founded on the ideal of transforming care for mental health and addictions by building resilient organizations and communities. The founders saw the potential for patients to live happier, healthier lives if they had access to the appropriate resources.
Today, we operate within communities across the province through the support of a dedicated group of donors, sponsors, and volunteers who share our vision and spark change in mental health and addictions education, research, recovery, and care in Alberta.
